We have completed a home security installation at Mangera Home, covering the compound, entry points and parking, with mobile access, privacy zoning for the family areas and backup power.
The brief
Residential work is a different conversation from commercial work. The family wanted to see who was at the gate before it opened, to check the compound from wherever they were, and to keep the private parts of the house genuinely private. They also wanted the system to survive a power cut, because the moments homes are most vulnerable tend to arrive with the lights out.
What we installed
- Bullet cameras on the perimeter and gate, and dome cameras at the entry points and parking bay.
- Multi-sensor coverage at the main approach, giving a single wide view of the driveway and gate from one mounting point.
- Mobile-based access so the gate and the main door can be authorised from a phone, alongside smart card and RFID readers for household use.
- Privacy zoning configured into the management software, so interior family areas are masked from recording entirely.
- Backup power on the recording and network equipment to ride through outages.
Getting the details right
Every cable was run in containment and clipped, because a home installation is judged as much on how it looks as on what it records. Camera positions were walked with the family at the time of day they were most concerned about, so the angles were set against real lighting rather than a guess.
Handover and training
End-to-end support is standard — consultation, installation and maintenance. Everyone who would use the system was shown how to pull footage, how to grant temporary access to a visitor, and how to check the privacy zones are holding.
