We have completed a CCTV and intrusion detection installation for Mary Kinyozi, covering the salon floor, reception and stock room with discreet dome cameras and out-of-hours alarm cover.
The brief
A busy salon is, from a security point of view, a room full of expensive equipment, retail stock and cash handling that stays open past the shops around it. The owner wanted coverage that protected the stock room and the till without making clients feel watched while they sat in a chair — and something that would actually wake somebody up if the premises were broken into at night.
What we installed
- Dome cameras over the salon floor, reception and till point, chosen for discretion as much as coverage.
- Compact dome coverage in the stock room, where retail product and colour stock are held.
- Intrusion detection with motion sensors on GSM transmission, so an after-hours breach raises an alert even if the internet is down.
- Remote viewing from the owner's phone, including live view and playback.
- Centralised management on a single, straightforward platform that staff can operate without a manual.
Fitting it around trading hours
The salon could not close for the installation. Cabling was run before opening and after the last appointment, and every camera position was agreed with the owner on site first — including the places we deliberately did not point a camera, because staff and client comfort matters in a business built on repeat custom.
Handover and training
End-to-end support is part of every deployment: consultation, installation and maintenance. The team was trained on live view, playback and export, and on arming and disarming the intrusion system correctly — the step most false alarms come from.
