Project complete: CCTV installation at Kajiado County Referral Hospital

Multi-building surveillance with number plate recognition at the main gate, public address and fire detection integration.

We have completed a multi-building surveillance deployment at Kajiado County Referral Hospital, combining video coverage with number plate recognition at the main gate, public address and fire detection on a single management platform.

The brief

A referral hospital is several sites stitched into one: wards, an outpatient block, a mortuary approach, staff parking, a loading bay and a perimeter that people cross all day. The hospital wanted one view of all of it, and it wanted the vehicle gate controlled rather than simply observed. Loud, noisy casualty and kitchen areas also needed announcements to be audible, which pointed us towards a public address layer rather than more cameras.

What we installed

  • ANPR cameras at the main gate capturing entry and exit plates, with barrier integration for approved vehicles.
  • Multi-sensor and PTZ cameras covering the compound, parking and the loading bay.
  • Dome and bullet cameras across ward corridors, the outpatient block and stores.
  • Fire detection using Automatic Fire Detectors (420 Series) and Smoke Detectors (500 Series) tied into the same monitoring platform.
  • Public address in casualty and service areas, where clear announcements need to cut through genuine noise.
  • Unified management software so video, access, fire and PA are operated from one interface instead of four.

Why one platform mattered

Five systems with five licences and five logins is how security setups quietly fail — nobody opens the one they use least. Consolidating onto a single platform removes several licensing fees, reduces maintenance complexity and leverages the network infrastructure the hospital already runs. It also means an incident review pulls one timeline rather than four.

Handover and training

The hospital's facilities and security teams were trained separately, because they use the system differently: security lives in live view and playback, facilities lives in the fire and PA layers. Both groups received a follow-up session after a few weeks in operation.

Multi-site facilities are our most common referral work. Request a survey and we will walk the site with you before quoting.
