Customs Clearance and Freight Forwarding

Winnilinks Logistics offers Express Clearing of shipments for all inbound (Import) and outbound goods (Export).

During clearance of freights and cargo, imports into Kenya undergo a lot of ‘red tape’ or stages of authorisation when they arrive at Kenyan Customs and Kenya Port Authority.

However, due to the good relationships we have built and engagements we have over the years with the bodies we have mentioned, we are able to ensure the smooth running of our operations and in turn yours.

Licensed as an Authorized Economic Operator

Winnilinks Logistics LTD is now licensed as an Authorized Economic Operator and handles all its customs brokerage in-house — which means fewer intermediaries, fewer hand-offs, and one team accountable for the file from arrival to release.

  • Import and export entry lodgement and processing
  • Tariff classification and duty computation
  • Liaison with Kenya Revenue Authority and Kenya Ports Authority
  • Permit, certificate and pre-shipment documentation support
  • Transit and bond management

Customs clearance FAQs

At minimum: a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, and your KRA PIN. Depending on the goods you may also need permits from bodies such as KEBS, PCPB or the Pharmacy and Poisons Board. Send us the invoice early and we will tell you exactly what is required before the cargo lands.
With complete documentation lodged in advance, air shipments commonly clear within one to three working days and sea shipments within three to seven. Incomplete paperwork, valuation queries or physical verification will extend that — which is exactly why we front-load the documentation work.
AEO is an accreditation granted to operators that meet customs compliance, record-keeping and security standards. In practice it means our declarations are treated as lower risk, so your cargo is less likely to be pulled for physical inspection and moves through the release process faster.
Yes. We handle express clearing for all inbound (Import) and outbound goods (Export), including the certificates of origin and export documentation your buyer's customs authority will ask for.
