Project complete: CCTV installation at Makueni County Referral Hospital

A full IP Megapixel surveillance deployment covering wards, corridors, entry points and the hospital perimeter.

We have completed a full IP Megapixel surveillance deployment at Makueni County Referral Hospital, covering wards, corridors, entry points and the site perimeter.

The brief

A referral hospital is one of the harder environments to secure well. It runs twenty-four hours a day, it is open to the public by definition, and the areas that most need monitoring — pharmacy stores, records, maternity, the mortuary approach — are exactly the areas where privacy and dignity matter most. Coverage had to be genuinely useful without turning the wards into a surveillance exercise.

What we installed

  • Bullet cameras at gates, junctions and corridor runs where the field of view is fixed and predictable.
  • Dome cameras in public-facing interior areas — tamper-resistant and visually discreet.
  • Multi-sensor cameras at the main entrance and the compound, giving 180° and 270° coverage from a single mounting point instead of three separate housings.
  • PTZ cameras overlooking the car park and perimeter for real-time monitoring of large open areas.
  • Centralised recording and management on a single user-friendly platform, leveraging the hospital's existing network infrastructure.

Why IP Megapixel mattered here

The difference between footage that identifies a person and footage that merely records that a person was present is almost always resolution. IP Megapixel Technology gives superior image quality and wide coverage, which is what makes an installation useful after an incident rather than just reassuring before one.

Handover and training

End-to-end support is part of every deployment we do — consultation, installation, and maintenance. The hospital's facilities team was trained on the management software, playback and export procedures, and we returned for a follow-up session once staff had lived with the system for a few weeks.

If you are responsible for a facility that needs this kind of coverage — a hospital, school, warehouse, estate or commercial premises — talk to us about a site survey.
